Step-by-Step Organizer Toolkit for the People's Campaign for the Constitution

Voice your frustration on video and upload it to YouTube

BORDC is producing a short video on DVD that you can use to promote the People's Campaign for the Constitution in your community. The video will start with a montage of people from across the country stating what they believe is the most outrageous abuse of civil liberties or human rights since 9/11.

That's where you can come in: We invite you to videotape yourself or your friends and to upload your video on YouTube.

  1. If you or a friend has a video camera (Mini DV is preferred, but we can accept DVCAM, BETA SP, HDV, DVCPRO, DVPRO 50, DVCPRO 100), videotape your message or enlist your friends and colleagues and take turns recording one another stating in a sentence or two what you believe is the worst abuse of civil liberties or human rights since 9/11.  It can be a law or policy, an abuse of power, or a miscarriage of justice.

  2. Upload your video to http://youtube.com/my_videos_upload.

    1. In the "Title" field, start with constitutioncampaign.org followed by your own unique identifier (ex.: constitutioncampaign.org Your Name).
    2. In the "Video Category" field, select News & Politics.
    3. In the "Tags" field, copy and paste the following: People's Campaign for the Constitution, civil liberties, human rights, Constitution, Bill of Rights, post-9/11.

  3. After you have uploaded your video, send an email to: [info (at) constitutioncampaign.org] with "Video upload" in the subject line.  Please include the following in your message:

    1. URL from youtube.com.
    2. Name, city and state of each speaker in your video, in order of their appearance.

  4. Hold on to your tape!  BORDC will choose about a dozen clips to include in the video.  If yours is selected, we will contact you and ask you to send us your tape and a signed release form.
