Comment Policy

Comment Moderation: All comments to the People’s Campaign for the Constitution blog are moderated. We make an effort to review and approve comments in a timely fashion, but please don’t resubmit your comment or contact us about it if it does not appear right away.

Language and Manners: Comments, reasoned discussion, and respectful debate are encouraged; harsh language and profanity are not. Flaming is not allowed nor will it be tolerated. We reserve the right to edit and/or delete comments for any reason.  Comments that may be edited or deleted include but are not limited to:

  • Potentially libelous comments
  • Obscene or sexually explicit comments.
  • Hateful or mean-spirited comments.
  • Personal attacks, insults, or threatening language.
  • Plagiarized material or material that violates intellectual property rights.
  • Private, personal information published without consent.
  • Commercial promotions or spam.
  • Comments that are off topic or that link to material that is off topic.
  • Comments that embed images from external sources.
  • Comments that violate any law.

We will never edit any comment with the intent to alter the original author’s core meaning.

Email Privacy: A valid email address is required to post a comment to the PCC blog. Because we value your privacy, this email address will not be shared or published under any circumstances, nor will we send unsolicited emails to this address. It will not be displayed unless you type it in the body of your comment and you will not be subscribed to any mailing list by leaving a comment. Your email address may only be used by blog administrators to contact you about your comment. If you use an invalid e-mail address, your comment will be deleted.

Commenter Privacy and Protection: All email, snail mail, phone numbers, and any private and personal information posted in any comment will be deleted as soon as possible to protect the privacy of the commenter. To prevent such editing, never share this private information within the blog comment.

Comment Spam: Any comment assumed to be possible comment spam will be deleted and marked as comment spam. Comments using keywords, spam or splog-like URLs, or suspicious information in the comment form will be edited or deleted.

Commenters Blocked: Anyone who violates this Comments Policy may be blocked from future access and/or commenting on this blog.

All Rights Reserved: The blog owner, administrator, contributor, editor, and/or author reserve the right to edit, delete, move, or mark as spam any and all comments. By posting your comments to the PCC blog, you grant the Bill of Rights Defense Committee the right, in perpetuity, to use, alter, and/or display them however its administrators see fit.  We also reserve the right to block any individual or group from commenting or from the entire blog.

Hold Harmless: All comments within this blog are the responsibility of the commenter, not the blog owner, administrator, contributor, editor, or author. By submitting a comment on our blog, you agree that the comment content is your own, and to hold this site, the People’s Campaign for the Constitution, the Bill of Rights Defense Committee, and all subsidiaries and representatives harmless from any and all repercussions, damages, or liability.

Trackbacks Are Comments: All trackbacks will be treated in line with our Comments Policy.

Changes to the Comment Policy: We reserve the right to update and/or alter this comment policy at any time without notice.
